Autopak have recently installed an automated feed system for Intocast who supply refractory materials to Steel Works. Intocast’s core competence is to service the steel industry, with their international team of specialists, state-of-the-art technology and decades of professional experience.
We have automated the feed system to their mixer. There are seven bins with different materials – Intocast select a preset recipe on an HMI touch screen which will then dispense the required amounts out of each bin.
The product is then transferred from the bins to a bucket elevator using a trough conveyor. Each bin is on four load cells, the load cell signals are transferred into the plc using load cell amplifiers and analogue input devices.
The out-feed from the bins is controlled using two stage bin clam shell un-loaders. This gives a coarse and fine discharge speed.
